About MUZ

The Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) is the oldest and largest trade union in Zambia, founded in 1949 to represent the interests of workers in the mining industry. From the copper mines of the Copperbelt to the emerald mines of Ndola, MUZ stands as a pillar of workers' rights.

We negotiate collective bargaining agreements, provide legal aid, ensure safe working conditions, and advocate for legislation that protects Zambian mineworkers through our affiliations with IndustriALL Global Union, AFMMW, ZCTU, and FES.
